The Mystery Rosette
still alive, as far as I can tell
- after this harsh weather
through the darkest time of the year.

It would be nice if it survived the winter
even nicer
if it had a chance for summer bloom:
to show its true colours.

BUT: there are still many ifs
and a smoker's load of butts...

A whole batch of electronic postcards
arrived the other day from the Netherlands:
a backyard garden full of bonsais
and other potted plants, with or without a pedigree.
Thanks to Paul and Wanda
for a reminder of summer to come.

The waterlogged Scrap Meadow
is not where the Mystery Sea Lavender grows
but it gives an idea of how the thaw progresses
and how the sun still sets behind the complex
at the other side of the main road
before four in the afternoon.
