Have been collecting samples
of the Spear-leaved Orache
- for practice.
With the Long-stalked Orache
up yesterday
now seems a good time
for a fourth
Spear-leaved presentation

As far as I understand,
the thin stalks on some of the fruits
here to the right
are not real pedicels
- like on yesterday's S-weed -
but only the fibre that anchors
the fruits within the denser clusters
without a proper outer skin of its own
as a continuation of the bracteole
as it tapers into a long thin "neck"
- again referring to yesterday's page.
