Spreading Cotoneaster   and   Mountain Currant, Göteborg, November 17th, 2002

Spreading Cotoneaster
Cotoneaster divaricatus
Spärroxbär i maj

Ribes alpinum
Måbär i maj
Mountain Currant

Tame shrubs
get S-weedy offspring

- the Mountain Currant
entangled in some Sycamore
which is probably also
there on its own initiative.

The Cotoneaster
spreads a scattering of sprigs
now here, now there
reluctant to let go

of places where it used to be planted
even as Management has other plans
- like Spiraea -
and eager to take root
in new spaces as well
- like in the sprawling
parking lots of the Next Block.
