Lycopersicon esculentum Tomat i juli, i oktober och i augusti

S-weed time
has started slipping
way over midnight

Botanists would need
some extra time
folded in
between the other hours
this time of the year.

And as I sit here
by the keyboard
I hear a burst of hail
setting off car alarms.


Perhaps this tomato
plant would have made it
through the summer
if I hadn't taken it all
- expecting the patch
of goosefoot and persicaria
to be weeded any day.

Well: here it is.
