The Rat's-tail Fescue - grass as weed in a lawn!
This one an infrequent traveller
from South and Central Europe
not spectacular to look at - but rare.

My samples today
got to travel yet a little more:
I brought them along on the excursion
in order to have Erik Ljungstrand confirm his email identification.

For me it is still amazing
how under my attempts to learn some more
of the relatively common things
- like, for grasses,
the steps beyond Cock's foot and Timothy grass -
strange and rare things
keep turning up on S-weed turf .
