Plenty of little Foxglove plants in the Empty Spot
with probably no better chances than the one that
got in the way for a new parking meter in April.
The ones expanding their zone just a little bit outside
the boundary stones of the flower bed
fare better, quasi-cultivated.

No children around to reproach me
for picking forbidden flowers.



The Empty Spot wasn't mown with the rest of the lawns in the Next Block on Monday
- but they must have taken an extra turn yesterday. One of the two Branched Plantains gone, and the Pale Toadflax.
The rosette of Evening-primrose made it. And the driver didn't take the machine across the soil pudding "flower bed".

I cannot imagine them mowing this into lawn shape - there'll be some horticultural construction work soon, I expect.
