out weed-walking this morning
in a mildly blessing rain
over the soil puddings also known
as flower beds, in the Next Block

soft rain
over the Brooklime
over the construction work
my new boots and old cardigan

the watermelon leaves
in the bark-filled compartment
housing flowers in the first courtyard
where construction is finished

to us
here
on the Swedish west coast
it's a marvel when rain isn't chilling

even in summer




PS: I first saw watermelon growing in the Swedish outdoors last year, on a garbage dump visited on excursion.
