In the beginning of August
the Fancy New Hill
where grass was sown in May
a sea of Goosefoot and Charlock
with little islands
of cultivated Flax and Cornflower.
Lots of Nightshade in one corner
Fool's Parsley here and there
and Wild Radish in one spot.

In the middle of August
a sea of stubble
with little Cornflower islands...

It's stubbly there still
but the Charlock is back
for a third round.
