Aster tripolium
Strandaster

Eva Ekeblad, 2002

A single Aster
trodden down in the grass
(and bending upwards again)

in the inner corner of the yard
at the back of the Next Block
- a most un-interesting corner for S-weeds
I've found it on my few previous
visits to that particular spot.

The fun things
have been at the outer edge
where the Barnyardgrass
and the now barely recognizable False Shamrock
have still not entirely succumbed
to the random walks of construction work.

The Brooklime making
a second go
on the street side
where weedy flowerbeds
were pulled and sown over with grass
