Göteborg, September 17th, 2002: Hoary Alison

Berteroa incana
Sandvita i juni

The only specimen on S-weed territory
of the Hoary Alison
is in a regularly mown spot
- it has re-booted its run of flowers
at least twice
since the June presentation.
I didn't have the heart
to take more than a dry sprig.
And then import a demonstration sample
from elsewhere.

Annual Knawel

and   Wood Groundsel

Senecio sylvaticus
Bergkorsört i juli, i december och i juni

As an anniversary of last year's mistake
this is the sturdiest Wood Groundsel yet found
within S-weed boundaries.
It was so big I didn't notice it
although I've been looking at one of the others
in the small colony of Wood Groundsels
growing there,
where a hedge has been pulled
grass has been sown
and mostly Goosefoot grows right now.

I read in my paper this morning
about the use of Internet in Swedish homes.
- a report from the ICT commission.

It seems that while an increasing number of households
are connected to the Net
my sisters are the last to use it
- due to a family dynamics
where the husband and children are quicker to occupy
the space for surfing and gaming
and the wives and mothers
do not use the Net for fun
but mostly for practical purposes
- where, moreover
they don't find the selection of services very useful...

Of course I think it's a pity
if my sisters don't come here
to walk among the S-weeds.
