Buffalo-bur, Göteborg, October 3rd, 2002

When the watermelon
and the other S-weeds had visitors last Saturday
the Buffalo-bur also got to tag along
in its pot
- in fact, it spent most of the day travelling
in order to be briefly placed in the spot
where it came from, and get to show
its spiny leaves and five yellow flowers.
Those five
were the most it had open at the same time
out of the dozen it has had
and which all fall of
without fruiting.
Self-sterile.
And now there were no more buds
I decided to harvest
for the scanner and the press
while there were still flowers.
