The Purple Loosestrife and the Hard Rush,
neighbours in the row of most cultivated Spiraea
(the Loosestrife features in the August presentation of the Rush)
Both still there, a bit worn by the seasons.

And since they both have weedy relatives
(mingling with Spiraea amongst others)
in the plant nursery that delivers to the Next Block
there is strong reason to suspect that they have hitchhiked
with the Spiraea, all across town:
motorized S-weeds.
