Musk Mallow

Lady's Mantle, Göteborg,
August 10th, 2001

Malva moschata
Myskmalva i september i februari,
i juli och i december

There are tiny buds on the Mallow but in all likelihood they will not be left to flower. The Small Bugloss in the same patch is almost in flower now, with its replacement for the set of buds trimmed off barely three weeks ago.

Patterns of green.
From the patch of lawn down by the Mall
with the Yellowsorrel, the Small Bugloss and the Feverfew.

Alchemilla vulgaris
Daggkåpa i november, i april och i maj

One of the many things I have learned since I started this journey
is that the Lady's mantle is not a single species but a cluster,
albeit closely related.
I was lazy enough to wait for Erik Ljungstrand to tell me
the more precise identity of today's sample:

Alchemilla micans
Glansdaggkåpa
- in English this would be
Shimmering Lady's Mantle.
In German it is, at least,
Schimmernde Frauenmantel.
