Have kept an eye on the Caraway for a month now
close to the crossing (where the car is)
in the sloping lawn to the right.
Lost track of the others.
This one's been lawnmowered about three times.
Thought it gone.
And it's certainly crippled
and surrounded by lawnmower muck
but there are flowers!
Patient creature.

Like the Japanese Rose
flowering on the side away from the bruising traffic.

While a little further on
by the vacant office building
with the unsponsored lawn
someone was carried away
playing at lawnmower rally confirming my suspicions
about the mentality of mower crew

And yet a little further on
the gulls
by their very worry
alert me that there's a nest of eggs close by...
