These walled-in flowerbeds were constructed in 1998
and there's a lot of bark in the soil filling
which seems to work against the weeds

Of this little vetch
there was only a single plant
-- far from what the mouse-ear or the dandelion will muster
(and no, I didn't take it all)

This is still
just below my window,
but I have found the hairy tare in a few other, very similar patches.
Now, tiny and fragile as it is
I could not resist putting up the four-times enlargement
scrolling down below
