Still on the short leash I have put myself on,
surprised by the snow (not again!)
yet not desperate enough to scratch like the birds...
I take recourse to the dried knotweed
hidden under the bench by the drive

Not much change in a month there -
but while the mild weather lasted
I spotted new green samples - buried now in snow
