Stinging Nettle, Göteborg, April 12th, 2001

When the snow arrived on February 25th
bringing more than a week of late winter weather
the stinging nettle was one of the tall dry weeds still available for this chronicle.

Like several of the others
it had also already started its spring season.
So if not for the snow
the purple spring shoots would have been on display here a month ago.

I try not to come back to one and the same weed until the others have had their turn.
At least that was the initial rule, broken only by mistake.
Then, with the arrival of spring, this has to be balanced with the fast developments.
