Spider Flower, Göteborg, October 23rd, 2001

More news from the New Lawn.
I found this one, the one to the left,
on Saturday - but could only guess
that it was one more garden survivor.

Now, after a round of electronic query
sending picture questions to my helpers
near and far (if southern Sweden is far ;-)
I take the responsibility for any
remaining error in this identification
- meaning that if it turns out later
to be something else than a Spider Flower
the repair job falls on my table.

Then... since I could not re-find the rosette
when I made an inventory there yesterday
of everything from chickweed to thornapple
(roundly 80 species)
I had to take another look today, of course
among all the fallen maple leaves.
And I found this one, the one to the right
which, comparing the pictures, is not
the same individual.

- that's back to basics
