Göteborg, October 26th, 2001: Annual Knawel  and

Greater Knotgrass

Scleranthus annuus
Grönknavel

Eva Ekeblad, 2001

Polygonum aviculare
ssp. aviculare
Stor trampört
i maj och i juni

In addition to the ones returning from underneath
like the Corn Mint, the Broad Dock and the Canada Thistle
and the garden escapees like the Pumpkin and the Spider flower
the New Lawn has given some S-weeds a second chance
another growth season, starting late.

The Knawel dried out for the season in its old patch in August
now there are fresh tufts in the New Lawn.

The Greater Knotgrass had flowers in June - too soon for another presentation
among all the June competition. And then it was weeded away...
- only the ordinary Knotgrass of the subspecies microspermum to be seen
in the S-weed spaces. Now it's pretty in pink, in the New Lawn.
