Sneezewort, Göteborg, November 2nd, 2001
|

There is something sneezeworthy
in the state of my home
might be the season of central heating, which has started in earnest
or just a lack of vacuuming
The sneezewort I have seen with my own eyes, growing in the Scrap Meadow; I picked this sprig with my own hands, and scanned it on my own scanner.
The German Tamarisk I have also seen with my own eyes,
(though only as a pressed sample)
and that, too, was scanned on my scanner (unmounted)
- I thank Per Larsson for the opportunity to preserve its electronic likeness,
for bringing it all the way from Arvika,
and for telling me how the parent shrub grew there, incognito,
at a landfill where foundry sand is dumped,
simulating closely enough the gravelly natural habitat along alpine rivers
(north and south), of this "Itch Brush" (as it is called in Swedish).
