...but what shall I say? This is another of the mysterious manifestations in the New Lawn. The "Dahlia" the other day is another of these uncertain identifications: there is one more, still to go. Oh, and I must confess that I have strong doubts about the latest "Flixweed". They are now, the four of them, elevated to the status of potted plants on my windowsill - in expectation of a frost less tardy than last year. To be cared for until, hopefully buds and flowers make an identification easier.

When that time came, it certainly managed to surprise me.

This loss of a Bugloss, and the Doubtful Flixweed were the only ones of their kind there. That I have seen. The "Dahlia" was the biggest of its kind - and the yet- to- be- presented #4 growing in a pot since a week was one of many. It's getting nippy outdoors, and the strong winds do damage to the more sensitive plants.
