The top scan is of the dock leaves frozen stiff
it's so cold outside
it didn't feel like cheating to put the plastic box with them in the freezer
just briefly while the scanner got warmed up.

The bottom scan is after thawing the leaves for some ten minutes.
Doesn't look much different...
