Last spring
no daisies flowering in this lawn
before the second half of April
and now
a couple of February pioneers.

This doesn't mean
there won't be another turn of snow
we must always be prepared.

The writings on the wall
have come down.

Signs of life-long learning, domesticated
are being replaced.

With what I do not know.
But it explains the banner For Hire
that has been up for the past two months.
