I'm learning new things
about what is remarkable:
as a result of finding the Cow Basil
five days ago
I was asked to show three botanical visitors to the spot where a small cluster of annuals celebrate their survival
of adventures unknown, since their parents last grew in a garden.
The two flowers on today's page were not the main attraction,
but evidently the Vaccaria
does not manage an escape like that very often in these parts
I feel a slight guilt, nipping the samples for my scanner - but then I think of the Perennial Cornflower which was kidnapped by some thrifty person
and how anything that sticks out with too much prettiness in this environment - like the Hesperis - is likely to be subjected to our famous legal right of Everyman's access to wildflowers.
