The Mugwort: comes in all shapes and sizes. Little seedlings making a new go where the soil has been weeded and raked. Mature but crippled plants, making their comeback to flowers after whatever shearing they have undergone. And untouched plants with sagebrush aspirations, like the one in the photo.
The Sneezewort: after most patches have been mown, it still participates in the fray on the Bank between the Ditch and the Hogweeds - with Vetches, Rest-harrow, Bindweed and grasses.
The Bur-marigold: grows in the wet part in the middle of the harvested Meadow. The top sample was scanned a month ago, before any flower buds were visible. Although its preference for wet and disturbed soil has situated it down in the old wheel ruts left in that section of the field, from when this place was used for parking road building equipment, the survivors at present are fairly scarred.
