Toadflax, Göteborg, April 25th, 2001
Two perennials for today - one elegant spiral...
The spiralling grace of the toadflax shoots is impressive, where it is now emerging in a trivial patch of gravel by the parking lot across the street, close to where the giant hogweed is busy colonizing the land. The December sample came from up by the bus center, so I'll keep an eye out for it there as well.

...and one dishevelled straggler-on-the-ground
The sticthwort, back in October, grew in a patch of grass behind the fast food place, which was cut a few days later - and so I lost track of it - didn't know it well enough to recognize without its flowers, although there is a patch of tangled stalks I have been watching, on the open soil by the parking lot up by the bus center, for quite some time now...
