Sweet Violet, Göteborg, April 21st, 2003

The Sweet Violet has been in bloom for some time already
– I have been occupied elsewhere and somewhat reluctant
to nip the almost-in-the-flowerbed one I found first.
Was going to do it today, then discovered a couple of sizeable patches
well on their way out into the lawn that I hardly ever step into
because it's so surrounded by flowerbeds
except from the side with the bike rack just outside
the entrance to the ABF (community college)... where I evidently
don't go either: after two and a half years of weed walking
in my own neighbourhood, I'm still too shy to walk where
I think that people will think I'm trespassing
have no business to be...
I must have been brought up very well.
