The ruderal grounds in the reconstruction area of the Next Block are gradually being tamed. In the last bay of the meandering backside of the block there is a last refuge for new S-weeds, and old.
This summer I get the feeling that this small area of the S-weed domain is being exhausted. Not that I don't still find new taxa... and not that distinctions between common weeds that I have once worked through will stay clear in my mind... but I'm looking for a form that fits more wide-ranging botanical explorations. I need a new name. The hunch of three years ago to name the wild plant life in my immediate neighbourhood "S-weeds" might fit some of the other places I visit, but I'd prefer not to overexpand it. Perhaps next there will be "S-worts"...
