Mouse-ear Chickweed, Göteborg, Dec 2nd, 2000

They were there yesterday
and I bet they will crop up tomorrow
but today I spent twenty minutes in the dusk around sunset
rewarded only by this tiny specimen hidden in the lawn

too dark for my eyes...

The Mouse-ear Chickweed
is one of the inveterate lawn-weeds:
doesn't seem to need bare spots
and is quite indifferent
to the frequency of mowing

The mouse-eared chickweed did, indeed, turn up the next day - not in the lawn, but in a weedier patch.
