Goat's-beard, Göteborg, Dec 4th, 2000

I read in the daily paper
that the past November was the rainiest and most sun-poor
in the 160 years they have been keeping records.
And the mildest since 1938.
So this chronicle of weeds is apparently not of normal conditions.

Be that as it may:
Today I found a previously overlooked plant
in the soggy meadow patch across the street.

Tragopogon pratensis
Ängshaverrot i maj, i juli och i oktober
Eva Ekeblad, 2000

November 2001, when summed up in the paper, was on the other hand unusually sunny - and clear enough to bring several cold nights with frost. In that sense, closer to average.
